Jockey Larry Cassidy served up a perfect ride to score on Heart Of Many
Jockey Larry Cassidy served up a perfect ride to score on Heart Of Many

IMPROVING galloper Heart Of Many will return to Doomben next week, chasing consecutive Saturday wins.

Trainer Barry Baldwin is eyeing a One Metro Win Hcp over 1600m for the four-year-old, which has trained on well from a commanding victory at Doomben last Saturday.

Larry Cassidy steered the son of Show Of Heart to victory in a No Metro Win race last week, shooting clear at the top of the Doomben straight to score comfortably.

Baldwin said Heart Of Many had done well since the race, which shone more light on his ability.

"I wasn't sure how he would handle that hard track last week because it was the first time he had been on that type of surface," Baldwin said.

"We knew he could handle the wet and, when that happens, you do wonder whether the horse is at his best only on wet tracks. But now I'm starting to think that perhaps he is at his best on top of the ground and ability got him through the wet.

"We'll have to see as time goes on but he's a very promising horse and I look forward to seeing how he goes at his next start."

Heart Of Many had no luck at his previous start when beaten at a midweek event but new rider Cassidy ensured that the gelding had a better run this time and pushed him clear when an opening came.

Heart Of Many has three wins from eight starts.
