Barry Baldwin hopes Hold Me Tight can perform well at Eagle Farm.

TRAINER Barry Baldwin hopes filly Hold Me Tight can take her first step towards a prosperous winter when she resumes at Eagle Farm on Saturday.

The three-year-old will line up in the Jim Beam BM75 Hcp (1300m) in her first start since a promising maiden victory at Doomben almost five months ago.

Hold Me Tight appeared to be battling that day before putting her mind on the job and storming home.

That win suggested the Refuse To Bend filly may be competitive in better races and Baldwin said Saturday's race would be a good test.

"We're hoping she will develop into a nice staying filly so we'll see how she settles in this race and we'll look for her to finish off the race nicely," Baldwin said.

"We'll wait until after the race before we make any plans but I hope she will be competitive in the carnival."

Hold Me Tight is owned by the Sexton family including former Brisbane Racing Club chairman Bill Sexton.

The Baldwin stable will also have Croatian Quality racing at Eagle Farm while Sheeza Myzzile and Bellinger Valley will start at the Gold Coast on Saturday.
