A beefy Havatryst will be out to stake his claims for the triple crown series when the five-year-old makes his comeback in the Paynter Dixon Handicap at Eagle Farm this Saturday.

Havatryst was rated one of Queensland's up and coming sprinters a few seasons ago but the gelding's career has been restricted to just 17 starts for six wins and two placings.

He has not started since tailing a field of nine in the Listed Ascot Handicap at Eagle Farm on July 7.

"He's a very good horse but he's had more than his share of problems," said trainer Barry Baldwin.

"He had a breathing problem for a while and then got a throat infection so we had to turn him out several times.

"But he looks bright and well right now though he's about eight to ten kilos heavier than last time he raced.

"I'm looking for a good run from him over 1100 metres and if he races well he'll back-up in the Keith Noud before the George Moore."

The Listed Keith Noud Quality (1200m) will be run at Eagle Farm on November 24.

His main mission is the Ttriple Crown series which begins with the G3 George Moore Stakes (1200m) at Eagle Farm on December 8.

Last campaign Havatryst won two restricted city races before stepping up in class to finish ninth to Adebisi in the George Moore Stakes.

Baldwin also has a strong hand with stablemates Run Royal  Run in the Jigsaw Consulting Group Handicap (2200m) and Side To Side in the Coca Cola Amatil Handicap (1600m).

"I think both of them have good chances and they should run well," Baldwin said.

"Run Royal Run is very promising and I want to see how he goes in this before we decide where to go with him."
