BARRY Baldwin is seeking partners for a two-year-old gelding that he just couldn't part with.

The Snippetson gelding went through the Magic Millions Horses in Training sale today (Thursday, November 1) and Baldwin bought back the horse rather than see it sold elsewhere.

"I have a real opinion of this horse and I can understand why the original partners wanted to sell because he's come along so much since we bought him as a yearling earlier this year," Baldwin said.

"He reminds me a bit of Demanding Miss at the same stage of her career. She went on to run third in the Magic Millions 2YO race. I want to have a go at that race with this fellow.

"He's about a month away from racing and you can see from his jumpout recently that he's a natural runner."

The gelding scorched along the Doomben straight two weeks ago, winning easily under the riding of Michael Cahil.

Baldwin is now seeking five partners at $13,000 each, including the pay-up for the gelding to be eligible for Magic Millions races.

The horse has undergone the required X-rays for sale to Hong Kong but Baldwin said he would love for him to stay racing locally.

"My vet has been right across him and has given him a clean bill of health," Baldwin said.
