BARRY Baldwin will attempt to prepare staying wins in two states on Saturday with Mr Light Blue and Flying Home.

Baldwin will be in Sydney to watch Flying Home tackle the tab.com.au BM85 Hcp (2000m) at Rosehill following his solid last-start second at Rosehill.

At Eagle Farm, the consistent Mr Light Blue faces a small field in the Hidden Dragon @ Lyndhurst BM90 Hcp (2128m).

Baldwin says he's delighted with Flying Home's progress since his last start but is wary of the classier field he faces on Saturday.

"He's put on seven kilos since his last run and I'm thinking that the trip down from Brisbane may have taken a little bit out of him," Baldwin said.

"He only got down three days before the race but he's certainly made up for it since. We gave him a good hitout Tuesday and he's thrived."

Flying Home will carry the colours of owner Tom Sheahan - the same black and white colours that saluted at Rosehill when Burdekin Blues, ridden by Shane Scriven, won the Group 2 Expressway Stakes in 2009.

"I am concerned that he's dropping back to 2000m but we really didn't have a choice. It's the only race for him here and, if we went home, we'd be badly placed in a Benchmark 90 race so we can't avoid it. 

"I expect he'll go home and spell after this run but I'll wait to see what happens Saturday."
