TRAINER Barry Baldwin says he is pleased with Hold Me Tight as she steps up to Group racing in the Adrian Knox Stakes (2000m) at Randwick on Saturday.

Baldwin said he expected the daughter of Refuse To Bend to push forward from an awkward gate but he would leave the decisions to jockey James McDonald.

"James rode her in work this week and he was happy with her so she has settled in well here and I look forward to seeing how she races at this level," Baldwin said.

"She'll have to go forward from that barrier but I'm pretty sure she will settle. She has settled in her other races so I don't expect this to be different.

"But she is on trial at the 2000 metres so we'll know a lot more about her after this race."

Hold Me Tight has been placed at all her runs this campaign and, with more luck, could have been winning each of her starts. She saluted first-up at Eagle Farm, pushing to the lead but settling immediately.

That gives Baldwin confidence that the filly will settle in the Group 3 Adrian Knox and save her best for the Randwick straight.
